Sanghita, the earthquake that shook Kutch and some parts of Gujarat on 26th Jan 2001 was the worst in the history of Kutch. What I am referring in my story is the one that happened in 1970. It was of 5.2 magnitude. The one in 2001 was far greater magnitude ,was around 7.7 ( 6.8 on richter scale). We were in Kutch from 1962 to 1982. But I lost a lot of close friends in 2001 earthquake in Bhuj. In the 20 years that I spent in Kutch, have experienced many earthquakes, but the worst was in 2001.
