Wherever Life Plants You, Bloom With Grace
“Be a sunflower in the garden where you’re planted.”
I saw this message on a display board beside a vast sunflower bed. Bright yellow sunflowers were blooming and swaying under the sunlight and the gentle breeze.
The sunflower message forced me to reflect on my circumstances. I was depressed because I had lost a major consulting contract.
It was time to become a sunflower and flourish in what I was doing instead of wallowing in loss. I was working on projects my customers were happy about and gave me good feedback.
Losing that one major consulting assignment gave me the spare time to pursue hobbies I had put on the back burner. My mom was aging, and I could take care of her and spend quality time with her.
Key Message: Instead of wallowing in loss, make the most of what you have.
